Intern Program

sidebar imagePartners’ small, but important, internship program for local college and high schools provides opportunities for students in communities around the Monument.
These students are exposed to a variety of GSENM programs and projects in archaeology, paleontology, wildlife, botany and visitor services. Interns staff visitor centers and assist scientists in field research, data entry and web design.

  • High school students from Kanab, Escalante, Cannonville, and Big Water assist GSENM Visitor Center's staff, create informational and interpretivemain content image
  • exhibits. Intern also aid BLM Park Rangers in monitoring back country areas, basic site reclamation, trash removal, and visitor contact.
  • College student Daisy Johnson of Fredonia designed, formatted, and helped publish high school and elementary educational materials for Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument' Student Explorations' web site.
