Six modern Native American tribes, forming the Grand Staircase-Escalante Inter-Tribal Coalition, have lived in and around the Grand Staircase for thousands of years.
Service to the American Public
As one of the richest desert landscapes in Utah, the Grand Staircase draws in outdoors enthusiasts, hunters and anglers, artists, and adventurers of all kinds. It truly is one of the greatest desert playgrounds. GSEP works to ensure that playground will stay available for the next generation of Americans.
